The biggest day of the year in American football is right around the corner and that means we’ve got Super Bowl commercials and a half-time show to look forward to.
Every year, brands go above and beyond to impress viewers during their coveted time slot, mostly through the use of celebrity cameos. This year, you’ll spot a handful of famous Canadian faces on your screen.
First and foremost, two Schitt’s Creek cast members will make an appearance in a Nissan commercial — none other than Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara, a.k.a. Moira and Johnny Rose.

Levy will star in the ad alongside Brie Larson, David Bautista and Danai Gurira. O’Hara only appears on screen for a moment to gawk at Levy, who rocks long silver hair and a leather jacket in the commercial.
Former Toronto Raptor and honourary Canadian Kyle Lowry will also make his on-screen debut in an ad for a Canadian cryptocurrency marketplace called Bitbuy. In it, Lowry listens as a narrator says that the player “missed 6,000 shots in his career.”
“Don’t be like Kyle and miss your opportunity again, and again, and again, and again, and again,” it continues. Needless to say, Lowry does not look impressed.
Then there’s Vancouver’s beloved Seth Rogen, who will star alongside his good pal Paul Rudd in a Lays commercial, the brand’s first Super Bowl spot in 17 years. In the ad, the two actors go on a bizarre trip down memory lane as they share a bag of chips before a wedding.
With Super Bowl Sunday just over a week away, all that’s left to do is to round up your teammates and pick an epic viewing party to go to.
