A unique new spot has opened its doors in Toronto’s west end. Simpl Things is two restaurant concepts under one roof, with a retro Miami vibe that’ll bring the heat to the city all year round.
The Parkdale eatery is a “day-to-night” concept brought to us by Evelyn Chick Projects, with “amazing food, delightful drinks, close friends and great vibes” all in one place.
During the day, the restaurant operates as an Italian comfort joint called Pasta Cartl.

In addition to craft cocktails, wine, and beer, the daytime menu features delicious dishes like duck dumplings in brodo, steak and eggs, squash ravioli, and more.
There’s also a limited brunch menu served every Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM.
At 7 PM, Simpl Things transforms into an entirely different concept called Eats by Betty, which serves Taiwanese inspired bites into the early morning hours.
The inventive menu is Chef Betty Chia’s take on authentic Taiwanese street food, with dishes like kung pao cauliflower bao, steamed monkfish with crispy bean sauce, black garlic pepper ribeye steak, and much more.
“Together they serve up a type of fusion that goes straight to the heart- familiar flavours with a unique twist,” the website says.
Whether you’re stopping in for brunch, a late-night bite, or an after-hours cocktail, it’ll be a new experience every time.
The flavours may be ever-changing, but the good vibes are always the same.
