Ready for some serious entertainment? For the first time ever, the Red Bull Flugtag is coming to Toronto and thrill-seekers will compete in teams to take flight in their homemade flying machines.
This internationally renowned experience is FREE to attend and if you’ve never heard of it before, let us fill you in.
Participants are tasked with building their own handcrafted human-powered flying machines, which they will launch into the air off a 9-metre flight deck and into the waters of Lake Ontario.
The competitors are scored by a team of local celebrity judges on the creativity of their craft, their performance, and the distance of their flight.

The team of judges includes astronaut and engineer Chris Hadfield, Survivor contestant Drea Wheeler, the “Hacksmith” James Hobson, snowboard Olympian Mark McMorris, and Canada’s Drag Race winner Priyanka.
Priyanka and the Red Bull Airforce team will be hitting the stage with live performances during the competition.
While you enjoy the show, you can grab a bite from 14 different food truck on site and have a drink in the beer garden.
This isn’t the first time that the Red Bull Flugtag has come to Canada. It was previously held in Vancouver way back in 2006, and in Ottawa in 2008 and 2013.
Toronto will get to experience it for the very first time at Ontario Place this month and thousands of people are invited to come down and watch the action.
