Toronto’s Distillery Winter Village is bringing a fresh batch of festive experiences to the city this year, adding even more holiday cheer on opening day.

Among the biggest additions for 2026 are several new food spots, an elaborate Canadian-themed bar, and an immersive experience inspired by one of the most recognizable Christmas stories.

“The Distillery Winter Village continues to evolve each year, and we’re especially proud of the calibre of performers, new attractions, and creative partnerships coming together for 2026,” says vice president of The Distillery Restaurants Corp. and director of experiences and events at The Distillery Historic District, Rik Ocvirk, in a recent press release.

One of this year’s more unique attractions includes a chocolate waterfall inspired by Costa Rica’s tropical scenery. Created in partnership with Visit Costa Rica, the installation will feature a chocolate fountain surrounded by greenery and festive decorations.

The fixture serves as a pit stop where visitors can grab chocolate-covered pineapple and banana for a sweet treat while exploring the market, transporting them straight to the tropical destination without the airfare. The installation will include an augmented reality feature that offers a glimpse of Costa Rica’s natural landscapes as its backdrop.

How’s that for a little sunshine to break up the wintry weather?

Those looking for a more theatrical holiday outing can head to the Fermenting Cellar for The Immersive Nutcracker. The experience will use large-scale digital projections to bring the classic Christmas tale to life, taking visitors through its familiar story and into the Land of Sweets.

Organizers describe the experience as having “larger-than-life characters” and offering food and beverages inspired by the traditional tale. You should note that this attraction has a separate admission fee.

A new Santa’s Village will also welcome guests inside Soulpepper Theatre’s atrium, with a shopping experience designed to evoke a European department store at Christmas. The village will be adorned with seasonal decor and will offer a letter-writing station, specialty hot chocolate, and daily story sessions with Santa’s elves. Take it as a little extra North Pole magic.

And then, there’s the food. Of course.

Food lovers will have several new stops to add to their Distillery Winter Village 2026 itinerary, whether they’re craving a savoury bite or something sweet to satisfy their holiday sugar rush.

Prince St. Pizza is bringing its popular New York-style slices to the event, while St. Lawrence Market favourite Carousel Bakery will serve up its iconic peameal bacon sandwiches. Other newcomers include Sweet Crumble, Potato Bar, and Peacock Bakehouse, giving visitors even more reasons to arrive hungry.

Returning fan favourites deserve a spot on the festive menu, too!

Visitors can once again savour their go-to grub, including Stick Shift Robata’s A5 Wagyu Sando, Scooped by Demetres’ Monkey Bread and Spirit of York’s Yorkie Burrito.

The market’s Chef’s Lane is also making a comeback with four new food cabins featuring exclusive holiday dishes from Toronto chefs Michael Angeloni, Afrim Pristine, Taylor Wells, and Arush Vardhan Singh.

For drinks and nightlife, a new Canadian-inspired tavern is taking over the Archeo patio. The Canuck Tavern is all things hockey — I think the name gives it away — and will feature fire pits and photo ops inspired by the country’s landscapes, including a canoe setting, Muskoka chairs, and even a ski chairlift backdrop.

Think of it as a little après-ski energy without leaving the city.

This year, the Cluny Tunnel is transforming into a Silent Night Disco, a winter-themed space featuring disco balls and DJ dance parties on a heated patio. Because who said the holidays were just for carols and classic Christmas movies?

Distillery Winter Village 2026 is already shaping up to be a must-see.

The event runs from Nov. 12 to Jan. 3, 2027, and will be closed on Christmas Day. Tickets are required during select peak periods, while admission is free Monday through Wednesday through Dec. 13. Tickets are now available for purchase online.
