Our city has definitely seen brighter days, but it’s not all bad! As we near July, the rainy season is in full swing, but luckily, there are still a ton of fun things we can do inside while water hits the pavement. Feeling a little lost? Here are 10 rainy day activities you can enjoy in Calgary.

HOST A TELAPARTY

GO TO A MUSEUM 

From dinosaurs to art galleries, Calgary has some incredible museums and exhibits perfect for exploring on rainier days. CHECK OUT THE BIG FUN INFLATABLE PARK

How’s your balance, Calgary? Those looking to get out, even in the middle of a storm can check out the Alberta Big Fun Inflatable Park – the largest of its kind not only in the province or Canada but all of North America! Located in Balzac, this massive facility has 25 ginormous and colorful obstacle courses for all ages – but please, drive safely folks!

POP INTO THE HEXAGON BOARDGAME CAFE

You really never know how much you care for someone until they hand you your ass in a game of Monopoly. This rainy season, check out the Hexagon Boardgame Cafe where couples and friends can have a drink, a laugh, and put their entire relationship to the test all for under $5.

Get active and stay dry! For those looking to work their muscles AND have fun, we’d recommend checking out the Calgary Climbing Centre. Grab some friends and cheer each other to the top – there’s nothing better!

HIT A RETRO BOWLING ALLEY

There’s something magical about a trip to the bowling alley. Maybe it’s the cool shoes, maybe it’s the top-tier fashion… whatever the case, we’ve yet to meet a person who wasn’t down for a few frames when asked. What’s even better is that Alberta has a ton of retro-style spots where you can – not only enjoy the game – but the aesthetic of it all as well! Check out the link above for our favorites.

DO A SELF-GUIDED BEER/WINE TASTING

Up for a quick drive? Almost every liquor store sells individual tallboys, so why not grab a few funky-looking cans and a few bottles of rose, red or white – and enjoy a blind taste test with some friends. Cover a few labels with paper, rate your faves, take notes, and fall in love with something new – all to the sounds of thunder and rain outside.
