Popular Korean pizza & chicken chain opening its first Canadian location in Toronto

If pizza and chicken hold a special place in your heart, this one’s for you. Pizza Maru, a Korean chain that specializes in chicken and pizza made with green tea dough, has finally arrived in Canada with its first location in North York.

The restaurant will have its soft opening on Tuesday, June 28, and Wednesday, June 29. The grand opening will be held on Canada Day.

Pizza Maru has over 650 locations across Korea and is loved for its “cheap yet delicious and high-quality pizza,” according to the chain’s CEO.

The restaurant has also gone global with storefronts in Beijing, the United States, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, and Myanmar.

Pizza Maru serves many mouthwatering varieties of classic, Chicago, and long edge pies, as well as Korean fusion pasta, Korean fusion rice, and Tteokbokki simmered rice cakes.

“Pizza Maru is the sole brand in the world that serves rich topping Korean pizza and seasoned chicken with various delicious sauces at the same time,” says a description on the restaurant’s social media. Sounds like a dream combination to us!

Between Canada’s first Wingstop, to endless food festivals and buzz-worthy restaurants, you’ll need a big budget and an even bigger appetite to eat your way through Toronto’s ever-growing food scene.
