If you’re looking to catch some live music in Calgary this fall, there’s an entire stretch of the city dedicated to it. Calgary’s Music Mile is a 10-block district running between Inglewood and East Village, with music venues, record shops, galleries, and independent businesses along the way.
Here’s what you need to know before you go, including stops to add to your list and where to find them.
Music Mile is a stretch of Calgary known for its live music scene, with more than 20 venues hosting performances throughout the year. You’ll find everything from small stages featuring local musicians to venues that regularly host touring artists, with genres ranging from blues and folk to rock and jazz.
The district runs along 9th Avenue SE, connecting Inglewood and East Village over roughly 10 blocks, from the King Eddy toward the Blues Can. Along the way, you’ll also find independent shops, galleries, and breweries.
With so many venues and stops to check out along the Music Mile, it can be hard to know where to start. Here are some spots worth adding to your route:
If you’re wanting to explore the Music Mile this fall, a Jazz Walk is taking place this November as part of the Canadian Jazz Festival, and it’s a great introduction to the area. The event will take place on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2026 and will feature live jazz performances at several locations, including the Central Library, The Nash’s Offcut Bar, High Line Brewing and Gravity Espresso and Wine Bar.
Can’t make it to the Jazz Walk? There are plenty of other events to check out throughout the year, and you can check Music Mile’s event calendar to see what else is coming up.
With so many different live music venues spread throughout Inglewood and East Village, Music Mile is a great way to spend some time getting to know the two Calgary neighbourhoods.
Which spot are you checking out first?
