There are too many incredible things to see on this planet for it not to be accessible to everyone. For this reason, today is one worth celebrating because Lynx Air, a new affordable airline, announced that they will officially launch in Calgary – giving those looking to explore beyond their cities a chance to do so without breaking the bank.

Said to offer lower faires and flexibility, Lynx Air will launch a small fleet of brand-new Boeing 737’s which will take to the sky in early 2022 ahead of 46 more planes – expected over the next 7 years.

According to Lynx representatives, the company will adopt Europe’s low-cost carrier model, which has completely revolutionized the way that people fly overseas.

By choosing a plane with fuel-efficient technology and offering “à la carte pricing” – which only makes customers pay for the services that they actually want to use – Lynx is able to axe those dreaded hidden fees that make boarding a plane so darn expensive.

“The model is about simplicity, efficiency and empowering customers to pay for what they want and nothing more,” said Merren McArthur, CEO and president of Lynx Air.

“Airfares have traditionally been high here in Canada, and we at Lynx believe there are Canadians who can’t afford to travel or can’t afford to travel as often as they would like.”

Unfortunately, for those who have already packed their bags, routes and schedules are not available quite yet, though they will be on their way “soon.”

Until then, we’ll keep our eyes on this one, friends! It’s been far too long since we’ve walked down a plane aisle and a trip is long overdue – we can’t wait to see where they’ll take us!
