This Ontario trail loops along cliff tops & to a lake lookout

Located less than an hour north of Sudbury, Halfway Lake Provincial Park is known for its swimming experiences, paddling, and hiking. From Toronto, you’re looking at about a five hours drive from Toronto but it is a rewarding trip.

For adventurers seeking a rewarding outdoor experience, hike along one of the four trails within Halway Provincial Park.

A great option is the Osprey Heights Trail. It offers the perfect blend of challenge and breathtaking scenery.

You’ll find the trail on the east side of Highway 144, towards the northern tip of the park. According to Ontario Parks, this 6-kilometre trail takes hikers on a journey through the rugged beauty of the Canadian Shield.

It is rated as moderate to difficult and is ideal for those looking to push their limits while enjoying the natural splendor of the region.

Per Ontario Parks, the trail begins with a short trek through a low wetland forest, along cliff tops and to the edge of Antrim Lake.

As hikers climb, they are rewarded with a stunning from over 50 metres above the lake. Stop, snap some pictures, have some lunch and when you’re ready, take the trail to loop back west.

At six kilometres, Osprey Heights Trail is a great option for a half-day hike, providing both challenging and unforgettable vistas.

Whether you’re an experienced hiker or looking to take your outdoor adventures to the next level, Osprey Heights Trail is a great route to venture.
