The deepest canyon in Alberta is an icy wonderland in the winter

From the mountain peaks and valleys, Wild Rose Country is an incredible place, but it’s truly something else when the snow falls. This year, experience its beauty both above and below the horizon on the Maligne Canyon Ice Cave Tour in Jasper, Alberta.

Organized by Pursuit, this scenic walk is only offered in the wintertime and will take travellers through the deepest canyon in the Rockies.

Set to kick off December 15th, 2023, those who brave the 2.5-hour tour will explore icy caves, get to walk under frozen waterfalls and be encouraged to look 50 metres upward from the chilly gorge floor.

From fossils and unique structures, you’ll also learn a thing or two about the area’s geography and will get to indulge in a smokehouse lunch at their Wilderness Kitchen.

The best part? All of this, plus a shuttle ride, proper boots, ice cleats and a helmet, will cost you less than $100!

For your safety, tours will only depart if the weather cooperates, so check it out when you can!

It won’t be long until it’s frozen over!
