The best part? While all items will have a suggested price, customers can choose to pay that total, pay less, pay nothing, or pay more if they want to pay it forward for someone else in their community.
Funded through United Way, this market is meant to “ease the burden” of rising costs and give Calgarians access to affordable goods and, according to James Gamage with organizations Social Impact Lab, will provide a “dignified experience in accessing food assistance services as well as a direct way to help one’s neighbour, cultivate community and build social connection.”
Interested? As we mentioned the Open Market will take place weekly at the Meadowlark Park Community Association between 5 and 8 pm.
