Following a global survey of more than 800,000 people, Condé Nast Traveler has released its Readers’ Choice list of the best hotels in the world for 2021. And, wouldn’t you know it, one Canadian name managed to make it on there! Curious? So were we, so let’s check it out.
The Oak Bay Beach Hotel located in Victoria, British Columbia came in at number 19 on the list, beating out everything from Italian Alps resorts to shining stars from Fairmont and Four Seasons. It’s also the only Canadian name on the list, so it gets the special distinction of being the best hotel in Canada, at least according to this list.
We think it’s well-deserving of the title. The Oak Bay Beach Hotel sits on a beautiful waterfront location just outside of downtown Victoria, allowing for a wonderful mix of convenience and luxury. You can hang out in town for the day, try and get a tee-time at the oldest 18-hole golf course in Canada, or just kick back and relax by the mineral pools for a few hours.
Of course, no matter what you get up to, a visit to the on-site Boathouse Spa is a must for anyone looking to stay here. Incorporating everything from seaweed to lavender and glacial clay, the spa consistently ranks as one of the best in Canada, thanks to the stunning views and high-quality treatments on offer. We’ll admit- it sounds like the perfect way to unwind after a day of whale-watching or exploring nearby hiking trails.
But don’t just take our word for it. After all, it’s ranked as one of the best hotels in the world! For more information about Oak Bay Beach Hotel, just head over to the website.
