Alberta’s Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel is world-renowned for its beauty and its incredible dining options, but what most don’t know, is that hidden behind a bookcase in their acclaimed Rundle Bar, is an entirely separate room where guests can go somewhere more quiet for a cocktail – or a ‘secret’ meeting.

Though the two have the same menu, the hidden Sidecar lounge provides a darker, more ‘intimate’ dining experience.

This room is typically used for medium-sized gatherings, conferences or parties – but on the odd occasion it hasn’t been booked out for the night, it’s actually open to anyone.

In the event that it is occupied for the night though, the Rundle Room is an incredibly cool place to grab a drink regardless so don’t worry about some else’s plans putting a wrench in yours.

They’ve got an incredibly impressive cocktail menu that you can actually view here with everything from negronis and mai tais, to one-of-a-kind signature sips.

For those who are interested in holding an event in the Sidecar room, here’s what you need to know!

The minimum spend is around $500 an hour for a minimum of three hours between October and April, or $750 per hour (min 3 hours) from May to September.

Also, you’ll only be allowed 36 guests, so choose your friends wisely – it certainly isn’t cheap.

The rest of you, keep your fingers crossed if you’re ever in the area! It’s definitely a must-see.
