You can chowdown on chowder for charity at this annual foodie fundraiser

If you’ve got a so-fish-ticated taste, then we’ve got the event for you! The annual Ocean Wise Chowder Chowdown is back, and on October 26th, ten local, seasoned chefs will go head to head to be crowned the 2023 Chowder Champion. Not only is it a tongue-twister of an event name, but it will also have your tastebuds dancing with a mouthful of flavour.

The Ocean Wise Chowder Chowdown, hosted by Ocean Wise, is taking place at George Brown College for Hospitality and Culinary Arts and is all about supporting Ocean Wise’s sustainable seafood program.

Since 2005, Ocean Wise has been championing sustainable seafood, making the world’s oceans a better place, one delicious bite at a time. You might recognize their little logo as the gold standard for responsible seafood sourcing in your local grocery store.

What to expect

Wondering what’s on the menu? Well chowder, obviously, and lots of it! Your tickets work as an all-access pass to each chowder station ! Plus, you get to enjoy the perfect complimentary craft beverages to wash down your chow.

And the best part? You get to choose your favourite! Throughout the night, guests can sample each of the chef’s creations and cast their vote for the People’s Choice Award, which we will announce at the end of the evening.

All funds raised at the Chowdown will directly support Ocean Wise’s not-for-profit sustainable seafood program and their efforts for keeping our oceans healthy. Not only is the event in support of a good cause, but it also shows how easy (and delicious) it is to cook and eat sustainable seafood.

So get ready to eat, drink and cast your vote—all in the good name of ocean conservation. This is going to be the chowder extravaganza of the year!
