From the city’s first-ever cocktail taphouse to a new rooftop bar, here are some intriguing new food & drink spots you’ll be able to check out this July.

Now open from Tuesday to Saturday from 3 pm to 11 pm, Please! Beverage Co. is Vancouver’s first cocktail-tasting house, with 18 delicious cocktails on tap, from their Grapefruit Paloma to the Green Tea Fizz. The space itself is bright and airy, casual enough to feel comfortable for any occasion, but elevated enough to feel like you’re treating yourself.

Tall Shadow Bakery 

This sourdough-focused spot in East Van is already active among local farmer’s markets, but its new storefront is now officially open from Wednesday to Sunday, starting at 9 am! From the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cookie to Cheesy Jalapeño Bread, to their classic fresh sourdough bagels, there’s something for everyone here.

Street Hawker

Now open on Main Street is Street Hawker, a delicious fusion of South Asian flavours and street food in burger form. If you’re ever craving a burger and shake but want to mix things up from your traditional patties and melts, this is a great option.

Note that this spot is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Birdies Eats & Drinks

Developed by a small team at Earls, Birdies Eats & Drinks is a California-inspired restaurant that will soon serve lunch, dinner, weekend brunch, and happy hour specials, including late-night deals!

Visitors can choose to dine in a spacious lounge or casual dining room, a 20-seat terrazzo countertop bar, or on a 1,785-square-foot patio that seats 75 people. And since it’s prime patio season, you know where we’ll be sitting!

The Parker Rooftop

Opening just in time for the hottest part of the summer is The Parker Rooftop, a soon-to-be hotspot for inventive eats and refreshing sips, all accompanied by sweeping views of the city from the ninth floor of The Parker Hotel (formerly Vintage Park Hotel). With 4,000 square feet of patio space and 20-foot-high ceilings, you’ll no doubt have a memorable time up here.

Take your pick from three sprawling outdoor patios and a wide selection of delicious sips – or try them all!

Wa-Bagel

Where “Tokyo meets New York,” there’s Wa-Bagel. Vancouverites will soon be able to enjoy delicious Japanese-style bagels, thanks to the latest concept by Aburi Restaurants.
