Show of hands, who LOVES Halloween?! Everyone? We do and it looks like this Ontario village does too! Not only is it considered “Ontario’s most beautiful village” but it’s also a fan of the unsettling, spooky annual holiday – Halloween. Elora and Fergus’ Monster Month is back this year and here’s everything you need to know.
This marathon of all things Halloween begins in October, transforming its historic towns into Halloween towns with spooky creatures around every corner.
For almost 20 years, Tim Murton’s Twilight Zoo has been handling the decor in Elora with a collection of lantern sculptures. Visitors from all over began to visit the town just to see them on full display.
“As popularity grew, local artists, community groups, businesses, and other organizations started adding themed events, leading to the name ‘Monster Month in Elora’.”
October 3rd and 4th will kick of Monster Month with Lantern Tours in Elora and Fergus, respectively.
On October 5, the Elora Green Space will transform into a haven of haunts with “The Awakening”. According to organizers, this will include zombies, a spooky Halloween fashion show and the Mayor’s pumpkin smash.
Pumpkin Day, the Sensational Soup-off, Monster March and Spooky Stables are a few more experiences to look out for as the month progresses.
If you’re a huge fan of all things spooky, this is the perfect time to visit Elora and Fergus.
