Canada’s largest year-round farmers’ market is in this adorable Ontario village

One thing about me is I love myself a farmer’s market. If you find yourself drawn to local produce, delicious smells, fresh flowers and yummy baked goods then you’re going to want to keep listening. St. Jacobs, Ontario just outside of Waterloo, a village that’s home to Canada’s largest year-round farmers’ market.

“The Village of St. Jacobs is filled with authentic sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and incredible one-of-a-kind shopping, that are sure to re-inspire the soul,” says the village’s website.
How cute?!
The main draw to St. Jacobs, Ontario is the farmers’ market.
Open all year long, the market has what feels like a never-ending list of vendors selling food, drinks, home decor, wine and beer, artisan goods and more.
The market is open Tuesdays from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm, Thursdays from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm and Saturdays from 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
If you want to check out what’s at the farmer’s market ahead of time, a full directory of vendors can be found here.
In the fall this spot is decorated with pumpkins and other fall decor and features some specialty seasonal vendors.
Keep your eyes peeled while you’re cruising around St. Jacobs as the village is still home to the largest population of Old Order Mennonites in Canada. You’ll likely see farmers on roads travelling to the market by horse and buggy!
Hungry or thirsty? The Village Biergarden is a beloved spot in the area with rotational cuisine, fresh brews, wine and cocktails.
If the weather is still nice be sure to sit on the patio – it’s one of the largest outdoor patios in Waterloo Region!
A perfect day in St. Jacobs, Ontario is ahead.
