After a downright chilly week, we’re ready to warm up with a steaming bowl of ramen. And thankfully, Vancouver has plenty of options, with one more on the way!
Toronto-born Kinton Ramen will open its second Vancouver location in Lonsdale at the end of the month, so get ready to treat yourself to their signature ramen dishes, sake and beer, and meal sets.
Founded in 2012 by the Kinka Family, the ramen spot has earned critical acclaim for its chef-driven Japanese ramen dishes, and now exists in more than 20 locations across Canada and the U.S.
“We’re thrilled to join the vibrant dining scene flourishing on the North Shore and bring our unique take on West Coast ramen to North Vancouver,” says Kinka Family Founder and CEO James Kim. “We look forward to serving people happiness and introducing locals and visitors alike to the full Kinton Ramen experience.”
And to sweeten the pot for residents of Metro Vancouver, Kinton Ramen is opening a third location in Surrey later this spring, at 13639 George Junction.

On the menu? A range of hearty ramen bowls prepared with slow-cooked pork or chicken broth in five distinct styles: Original, Shoyu, Miso, Spicy Garlic and Spicy Jalapeño. As well, the ramen spot will have four vegetarian-friendly bowls to choose from, featuring a plant-based broth in Original, Veg Shoyu, Veg Miso and Veg Spicy varieties.
According to the release, ramen will be served with a choice of thick, thin, or shirataki-style noodles, and topped off with bamboo shoots, mushrooms, jalapeno paste, nori, and sweet corn.
The restaurant also offers a mix of sides, including kimchi, karaage, takoyaki, gyoza, and donburi.
The new Kinton Ramen will officially open its doors on Sunday, March 19th. And for opening day only, they’re offering 50% off of their signature pork, chicken, and vegetarian ramen in original, miso, shoyu, and spicy broths.
Just head to Lonsdale between 11 am and 9 pm to take advantage of the tasty deal and welcome the newest member of the Kinton family.
