In late February, the 2022 James Beard Awards Semifinalists we’re announced and included a whopping sixteen Washington chefs and restaurants. Yesterday, March 16th the 2022 Restaurant and Chef Awards nominees were announced and Washington is still in the running! Let’s check out who remains.
Only three Seattle chefs and restaurants have remained in the running for awards. They include Rachel Yang and Seif Chirchi of Joule for Outstanding Chef, The Walrus and the Carpenter for Outstanding Restaurant and Mutsuko Soma of Kamonegi for Best Chef: Northwest and Pacific. While we’d love to see even more local chefs and restos still in the running it’s great that these three have managed to remain.
