The world has changed since the beginning of the pandemic, but we’d say, some things have changed for the better. In fact, Ontario’s GO Transit may be a perfect example of that, as they’ve introduced comprehensive health and cleaning initiatives to make sure that you can get to your destination in the safest, most convenient way.

GO Transit carries over 70 million passengers a year, so keeping the customer happy is at the core of their business. As COVID-19 came about, GO Transit introduced some major health and safety measures to ensure every person feels great hopping on for a ride.

First off, GO Transit has put in seat dividers so that you can ‘sit anywhere’ safely. Along with this, Union Station and 17 other GO stations have CleanSlate UV machines that customers can use to sanitize their devices and small personal items,  killing up to 99.9% of germs. Pretty freakin’ great if you ask us!

But that’s just the start. In total, GO has introduced over 40+ health and safety features, including enhanced cleaning measures to keep you safe and riding carefree.

On top of all that, face coverings are still mandatory in stations, on platforms, and on GO Transit vehicles. Forgot yours at home? No problem! You can buy one from vending machines at Union Station (in the SkyWalk) and at 8 other GO stations.

Some of these also carry other PPE, like hand sanitizer and disposable gloves so that you’re really covered.

Last but not least, the cashless and contactless payment options not only make GO Transit transactions safer, but also a heck of a lot more convenient. One great option is that you can buy your ticket before you leave home with GO e-tickets. The other? The ability to load funds onto your PRESTO card instantly using the PRESTO App!

Well, it sure sounds like it’s GO time, doesn’t it? With all the safety and convenience that GO is offering, we hope to catch you out there riding in no time!
