With the season of giving just around the corner, some of the best bars in Calgary have been transformed into a boozy wonderland perfect for a magical first date, a weekend romp or a post-dinner sip.

Nightmare on 1st Street

Shelter’s iconic Nightmare on 1st Street Bar is back and serving moody winter realness. Also on the menu? Tasty holiday cocktails and appetizers. You won’t want to miss it, Calgary!

Where: 2600 Portland St SE #1070, Calgary

Home Alone at Eighty-Eight Brewing Company

With decor meant to mimic the McCallister house, fans are encouraged out the Home Alone pop-up at Eighty-Eight Brewing Co. Hurry though! You’ll only have until  December 31st to have a drink or take part in some of their fun activities.

Where: 2600 Portland St SE #1070, Calgary

Miracle on 1st Street

If you’re into the classics, we’d recommend visiting Miracle on 1st Street! An event that is no stranger to Calgary, this pop-up has become a seasonal favourite and for good reason. Here you can get a variety of cocktails in Insta-worthy mugs and glasses, take photos with the wild decor and listen to music in your best worst Christmas sweater.

Enjoy and please, take an Uber home.

Where: 1302 1 St SW, Calgary, AB

Sippin’ Santa

We love the holidays but the cold weather can kick rocks. If you’re among the many who love sun, sand and stockings, look no further than Sippin’ Santa! A festive affair with music, ugly sweaters and tropical (but festive) decor, this is another one that you won’t want to miss.

Hurry though, you’ll only have until December 31st to enjoy it.

Where: 1530 5 St SW, Calgary, AB

Tinseltown

Nog yourself out! Meant to mimic Santa’s workshop, Tinseltown will showcase festive drinks curated by Confluence Distilling and Sunny Cider, as well as floor-to-ceiling decorations and festive music. Interested? Tickets are available now and include admission, one welcome gift and your one-and-a-half timeslot.

When: SunnyCider Bar & Kitchen – 3300 14 Ave NE Unit 1

And there you have it! Three Calgary pop-up bars you can visit this holiday season. Enjoy and stay safe!
