Alberta has some unbelievable places to stay overnight, but for those who dream of jewel-encrusted crowns and red velvet carpets, there’s no place quite like the iconic Calgary Castle house.
Known all too well by locals as one of the most original pieces of real estate in the city, this particular home has earned many a double take and was even an art collective for a time.
Located in the community of Mount Royal, curious kittens can now rent the inner-city residence via Airbnb where it’s listed as a ‘unique stay.’
Designed to look like a medieval palace, its exterior which features a stone facade and spiral staircase, is an absolute marvel, but its interior is just as impressive.
With 4 bedrooms, each with its own theme and 3 and a half bathrooms, The Calgary Castle can accommodate up to 9 guests, all of which are encouraged to enjoy what is described as an ‘entertainer’s dream.’
In addition to a grand library with yet, another spiral staircase, the residence also has a spacious bar, pool table, darts, and rooftop patio as well as a large kitchen with an adorable dining nook.
Not to mention, it’s incredibly close to restaurants, shops and cafes!
The only catch? It’ll cost you approximately $300 a night.
If you decide it’s worth it, enjoy! Otherwise, now you know what it looks like beyond its front gates.
This really is one of the coolest buildings in the city.
