New Hawaiian spot ‘Hanai’ opens in Vancouver today

Just in time for the start of spring, a decidedly refreshing concept has opened a permanent location! Hanai, the evolution of an ongoing pop-up in the city, has moved into a new space on Commercial Drive. Details are scarce, but we know it’s going to be delicious. Here’s why.

First- they’ve got some backing, thanks to a new partnership with the folks behind the beloved Dachi and Elephant restaurants in the city. While the food menu will stay true to the owners’ Hawaiian roots, we can only assume that this is great news for the cocktail and wine program.

As for the food itself, details are scarce. But, according to their Instagram account, we’re expecting a wide variety of dishes, ranging from hearty main courses to delicious sides and must-be-tried desserts, like a ‘miso tahini ginger cookie’. Sounds amazing, if you ask us.

And of course, now that their open, just the sound of it shouldn’t be enough! Make sure to check this new spot out when you get the chance, folks. You won’t regret it.
