There have been plenty of food trends that have caught the public’s eye over the past few years, but one that is coming to the city is right at the top of our list of ‘must-try’ eats. Fuwa Fuwa, a chain that specializes in the wildly fluffy Japanese souffle pancake, is planning to open an outpost in Edmonton. What’s more- it should land next month!
Fuwa Fuwa currently has multiple locations in Toronto (and one in Calgary as well), where customers have been going bananas over just how tasty these fluffy pancakes are.

As mentioned on the Fuwa Fuwa website, these Japanese pancakes are traditionally served after weddings to ‘symbolize good fortune’. We can’t verify that ability, but we can say that one bite of these pancakes will brighten your day.
The website currently states that Fuwa Fuwa will be opening an Edmonton location this July, but no official date has been provided. It’s been a long road- the outpost was originally going to launch way back in November, but has been delayed ever since.
We’ll keep you posted once it’s, you know, actually open! After all, who wouldn’t want to try a new souffle pancake shop in Edmonton?
