When you live in a city as delicious as ours, amazing food and drink events are practically a given. So while summer might be flying by, we’ve still got a handful of delicious food and drink festivals to look forward to before the season’s end. Let’s get right into it!
With several summer markets already under its belt (including the city’s first beachside night market), the Vegan Night Market by Peaces.ca is back and better than ever. Currently, the organizers are gearing up for their last July market on July 20th at The Waldorf, but there are several dates in August worth checking out as well!
Note that the final summer market on August 31st will take place at Locarno Beach.
When: Thursday, July 20th, August 3rd, 17th, and 31st
Where: 1489 East Hastings Street, The Waldorf
Cost: $2 minimum donation
This cocktail-focused festival celebrates some of the best mixologies in the city, featuring over 250 of the finest summer spirits, beer, wine, and cider cocktail creations – as well as mouthwatering bbq. The tasting event will take place at the PNE Fairgrounds with live music on throughout the day.
Oh, and don’t forget to stop by the festival’s Margarita Village for some of the best margs and tacos in town!
When: Saturday, July 29th
Where: 1055 Canada Place
Cost: $30 advance, $45 GA
BBQ lovers, take note. One of the largest BBQ events of the summer is slated for Rocky Point Park in Port Moody this July, and it’s definitely worth the trip. Delicious BBQ from 7 ‘ribbers,’ live music, and a park-wide beer garden? Sign us up!
When: Friday, July 21st to Sunday, July 23rd
Where: 2800 Murray Street
And to round out the street fests, we’ve got Powell Street Festival! It’s similar to Sakura Days, in that it’s Japanese-focused, but expect some incredible food vendors alongside the events and activities going down.
When: August 5th and 6th
Where: Powell Street
Yup, we’re tying up this list with the 5th annual Battle of the Brews in Surrey, because who doesn’t want another opportunity to sample local beers and food truck vendors? Attendees will have the chance to vote for their fave brews and decide which brewers will walk away as this year’s champion.
When: August 20th
Where: 104 Avenue, Surrey Civic Plaza
Cost: $45-$50
So there you have it, Vancouver! Some of the largest, most delicious food and drink festivals heading our way this summer. Cheers!
