Happy Monday and congratulations on surviving another Stampede. While these next few days certainly won’t be as crazy, there are still a ton of exciting events and activities to check out in and around the city. From markets to festivals, here are 10 things to do in Calgary this week.
Fresh veggies and fruit shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg – luckily this week, those in a bind will have one more place where they can eat better and spend less. Set to reopen every Thursday, the Calgary Open Market will sell fresh produce and desserts, eggs, bread coffee and more for pay-what-you-can prices.

Showcasing a ton of local vendors, food trucks, and artists, the Stephen Avenue Market will fill your bags (and your hearts) with memories, goodies, and unique pieces made right here in Calgary.

Calling all thrift shopping lovers! Goodwill Alberta has brought back the Goodwill Thrifting Hall of Fame, recognizing the best of second-hand shopping in Alberta. You can nominate yourself or other thrifters you deem worthy of induction. There are six categories and winners will get a prize package, a trophy and a live award ceremony on Saturday, August 26th to honour their induction into the HOF.
When: Nominations open from now till July 28th, 2023
From 21-foot-tall giraffes and snakes made entirely of plants, Wildscapes at the Calgary Zoo is a topiary event that features large living sculptures that have been hand-crafted to look like familiar creatures. Get tickets at the link above!

Get ready to groove at Calgary’s ultimate summer Chamber Music Festival. This musical experience is a five-day, four-venue event covering classical masterpieces to modern music beats brought to you by international and local artists.
