This BC park has a large, warm freshwater lake & forest-clad mountains

When it comes to planning a day on the lake, Cultus Lake Park is a popular outdoor destination for many reasons. For one, the provincial park is conveniently situated just an hour and half away from Vancouver, boasting crystal-clear waters and almost 300 front-country campsites to choose from. So if you’re in search of a solid spontaneous day trip destination or camping spot, you know where to head!

One of the most popular provincial parks during the summer months, Cultus Lake has plenty of wide, sandy beaches to explore – and its warm waters are ideal for swimming.

Visitors can take advantage of a ton of water sports and activities from kayaking and paddling to renting jet skis.

For hikers, trails like the Seven Sisters Trail (connecting Entrance Bay and Clear Creek campgrounds) and the more challenging Teapot Hill Trail offer stunning mountain vistas.

For those seeking more family-friendly action, you can check out Cultus Lake Waterpark, one of the largest of its kind in BC.

Note that swimming is only permitted in marked, buoyed areas, as there are steep drop-offs on the lakeshore and no active lifeguards on duty.

Boom! Another summer destination to add to your bucket list. Enjoy the sunshine, Vancouver!
