Here’s a look at the cheapest places to live in Seattle right now

Life in Seattle is expensive, despite gradually decreasing rental prices, finding a place to live certainly isn’t cheap. That being said, there are certain neighborhoods and areas where you might be able to save some dollars. Here’s a look at the cheapest places to live in Seattle right now.

Zumper compiled a list of some of the cheapest places to live in and around Seattle. In total, they came up with 9 areas and included a range of prices. Keep in mind each person’s experience with apartment hunting is different and some of their prices may reflect some serious listing digging!

Here are the cheapeast places to live, according to the Zumper report:

  • South Park ($1,200-$1,400 per month)
  • Greenwood ($900-$1,400 per month)
  • Pinehurst ($1,100-$2,000 per month)
  • Columbia city ($1,000-$1,700 per month)
  • Redmond ($1,500 per month)
  • Bryant ($1,600-$1,885 per month)
  • Madrona ($1,000-$1,500 per month)
  • Magnolia ($1,200-$1,500 per month)

Overall, Zumper found that some of the cheapest neighborhoods to live in Seattle also include Lake City and University District. While the most expensive is the Pike Place Market neighborhood with 1-bedroom apartment rents averaging around $3,030 per month.

They also determined that the “best” places to live in Seattle include Capitol Hill, Fremont, and South Lake Union. They are considered the best due to their many options for entertainment, nightlife, and dining and they more than likely fit the 15 minute city model. That being said, rent prices in these areas also tend to be higher.
