A new cafe and bakery from a Food Network champ opens this weekend

We don’t often find ourselves heading to Port Coquitlam, but this new spot will definitely make a day trip worthwhile! The new Cassandra Cake Co. cafe and bakery is having a grand opening this weekend, and is sure to be a sweet experience. Here’s a quick rundown.

The owner Cassandra Curtis, alongside her teammates, competed on an episode of The Food Network Canada’s show The Big Bake last year. And what’s more, their three-tiered cake, featuring three ‘French hens’ (it was a Christmas episode), earned them the top prize and $10,000!

Since then, Cassandra Cake Co. has been working away on custom cakes, but they’re finally opening a permanent location! It’s not just cakes, either- customers will get to enjoy a wide range of goodies, from cookies to cupcakes to even some savoury options.

And of course, you can expect a few delicious drinks to go alongside them, all in a beautiful new space. Whether you’re swinging by during a longer road trip, or just making a special trip out there to try it, make sure to keep this new spot in mind.
