If you’ve always wanted to plan a trip to Iceland, this new four-day festival is about to give you a snapshot of all that the country has to offer. Taste of Iceland Vancouver will soon bring together Icelandic food, cocktails, live music, comedy, photography, and info about the Northern Lights, so you can experience a bit of everything before ever buying your plane ticket.
A first in Vancouver, the cultural festival will consist of a lineup of curated live events at venues across the city. While mostly free, all events will be ticketed, and guests are encouraged to arrive promptly to secure entry.
The festival is designed to showcase the best of Icelandic culture, taking place from Wednesday, Nov. 11 to Saturday, Nov. 14.
Events will take place at The Pearl, Hawksworth Restaurant, J Lounge, and The Hargrove.
From a leisurely morning bike ride with Canadian Lauf rider, Oskar Stack-Michasiw, to a concert by two of Iceland’s most distinctive contemporary jazz artists, there’s a little something for everyone to enjoy.
If you’re hoping to travel to Iceland someday to experience the northern lights, astronomy and science educator Sævar Helgi Bragason will be hosting a crash course on the incredible natural phenomenon, which is expected to shine even brighter in Iceland next year.
Ready to check it out for yourself? Event tickets are available online, and select guests could even win a trip to Iceland.
