Canada is known for being friendly and welcoming, but have you ever wondered which spots in the country and the most welcoming? Booking.com has put together a list of Canada’s most welcoming destinations for 2024 – let’s dive in!

The list is based on each location’s share of accommodation providers receiving a Traveller Review Award 2024.
To be recognized with an award, accommodation partners had to have an average review score of 8.0 (out of ten) or higher based on at least three reviews.
Car rental partners had to have an average review score of 7.5 (out of ten) or higher based on at least 100 reviews and taxi providers had to have an average review score of 4.6 (out of five) or higher and completed 2,000 rides, all as of November 30th, 2023.
According to Booking.com, “this year’s list of the Most Welcoming Places in Canada includes five world-class mountain sports destinations, a wine lover’s locale that places yearly, and an east coast newcomer to the list.”
Whistler, BC, one of the busiest and most visited spots in the country when it comes to winter mountain sports, took the number one spot as the most welcoming destination in Canada.
Canmore, Alberta, also known for its winter activities, took the number two spot, followed by Niagara-on-the-Lake, a popular destination for wine lovers.
Moncton, New Brunswick is the only east coast city that made the list and Toronto, Ontario rounded out the top five as the fifth most welcoming destination in Canada.
While these were the selected locations for the most welcoming destinations in Canada, Booking.com also selected its Most Welcoming Places in the World – here’s the top ten.
Popular vacation and tourist spot Italy took 1st place and according to Booking.com, “for the seventh year in a row, Italy is home to the largest number of Booking.com Traveller Award recipients with 181,012.”
