This popular Toronto restaurant is opening a new location in New York

A Toronto taco restaurant that’s a hit among celebrities and laypeople alike just announced it’ll soon open a sister location in New York City.

Regardless of where you stand on the debate of who truly makes Toronto’s best tacos, Silent H often appears somewhere on the list — among ballers, rappers, and actors, at the very least.

Already a King West fixture at just three years old, the restaurant melds Mexican fare with a non-stop party atmosphere, both of which, evidently, contribute to the siren song it sings to the who’s-who of city residents and big names just passing through.

Now, Silent H’s star is only further on the rise, as restaurant owners Patrick and Nader Marzouk announce they’ll soon be embarking on an international expansion, opening a Silent H sister location in New York City.

“Bringing Silent H to New York is a defining moment for us,” Patrick Marzouk says.

“We built Silent H in Toronto with a vision to create something that goes beyond dining, a place that celebrates exceptional food, culture, and bringing people together. Expanding into Manhattan is an exciting next step, and we’re proud to bring what we’ve created in Canada to an international audience.”

Opening its doors between the city’s stylish West Village and Chelsea neighbourhoods on Nov. 24, 2026, the new location marks not only Silent H’s first expansion, but its first foray out of the country, too.

The new location taps Chef Gerardo Álvarez Saucedo to craft a menu of Mexican street food-inspired plates made with premium ingredients, paired with a cocktail program that interprets Mexico’s varied landscapes through sophisticated mixology methods courtesy of Beverage Director Spencer Gooderham.

Whether you’re a regular at Silent H or, like me, avoid King West at all costs, there’s no denying that Silent H’s expansion into the New York City market is a major win, not only for the Marzouks, but for Toronto’s food scene in general.

We’re used to seeing New York- and U.S.A.-based restaurants dip their toes into the Canadian market with locations in Toronto, but seldom does it go the other way. And at a time when conducting commerce across the border is particularly fraught, Silent H’s big swing is all the more commendable.

And with big names ranging from LeBron James to Travis Kelce already inducted into the Toronto Silent H fan club, here’s hoping that the New York branch finds equal fame.

Silent H NYC will be located at 420 W 14th St. in Manhattan.
