Freddie Gibbs

Indiana-born & raised Freddie Gibbs has become a rap staple thanks to his hard-hitting production and lyricism. If you’re looking for something to get you out of your seat this summer, Freddie is probably it.

By contrast, the English singer-songwriter Rex Orange County has created some unique rock-R&B fusion music lately (and forever) that is definitely worth seeing live! Lucky for Vancouverites, he’s slated to perform at the PNE early this month.

HAIM

The three sisters of HAIM first broke into the scene with their track featured in the 2005 film, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. The rest, as they say, is history. The LA-based pop-rock sensation will make its way to Vancouver on Friday, June 10th at UBC.

5 Seconds of Summer

Get ready for a bit of mainstream pop this summer! You don’t need to be superfans of the Australian group to vibe with what is sure to be an excited crowd of millennials living out their wildest pre-teen dreams.

DJ Tennis

DJ Tennis is a great EDM pick if the vibe is dancing until your feet stop working. This Italian DJ has had multiple Boiler Room sets, thanks to his focus on great mixes, and we’re excited to see him take off.

Yup, you heard it here, folks! BENEE is coming to Vogue Theatre on Sunday, June 26th. The Auckland-born singer-songwriter has topped New Zealand’s charts as well as the 1B plays list with ‘Supalonely.’

Catch a concert at the PNE

That’s right, this year’s Squamish Beer Fest is a mere three weeks away, which means we’re gearing up for beer selections from 55+ local breweries and axe-throwing in downtown Squamish.

Feasts of Coquitlam

Yes, this one’s a bit of a trek, but we promise it’s worth it! Feasts of Coquitlam brings a variety of different cuisines to Coquitlam Heritage at Mackin House every year, and there are two dates left this June! On June 9th, there’s Caribbean food with Chef Anthony Cross and Ghanian food with Fitnat Fahrner on June 30th.

Tasting Plates North Vancouver

This June, the folks that brought us Vancouver’s Spring Dumpling Fest is hosting another massive food tasting event. Come with an empty stomach and enjoy food from a bunch of restaurants, cafes, and local vendors at Angry Otter Tap & Forno Brewery.

Presented by Peaces and The Vegan Project, Canada’s first all-vegan market is returning to Vancouver after a two-year hiatus at the Waldorf. Plant-based tacos. Boozy Kombucha. Need we say more?

the series will commence at the end of June and take place on six consecutive Thursdays.

Hit up a brewery in Mount Pleasant

It’s no secret that Mount Pleasant is home to some of the biggest names in local craft brews in Metro Van. Why not get the gang together for a couple of pints? It is peak patio season, after all.

With April showers out of the way, we’re hoping to make a ton of trips to our local farmers’ markets this summer. After all, berry season only comes once a year!

Richmond Night Market

No food fest list (or any list, for that matter) in Vancouver is complete without this inclusion. Home to literally hundreds of vendors, it’s become a must for food and drink lovers to visit at least once during the summer months.

Go cafe hopping

From neighbourhood corner cafes to coffee carts along False Creek and English Bay, you’ll never be without caffeine in Vancouver. Try a new pastry at Purebread, check out Kits Beach Coffee’s new location, or even map out all the new cafes and bakeries you’ve been wanting to try. If you’re looking for something to get you out of the house this ‘Juneuary,’ this could very well be it.

Vancouver Dragon Boat Festival 2022

The largest dragon boat fest in North America is back this year! The highly-anticipated races on False Creek will be accompanied by free concerts from local names like The Zolas and Eagle Song Dancers, as well as cultural programming and tons of great eats.

Hit the Grouse Grind

Yup, the Grind is officially back at Grouse Mountain! Now is the perfect time of year to hit the stairs and get a great ocean+city view from the top of the trail.

Vancouver Canadians

It’s the season of cracker jacks and summer BBQ, folks. The Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club has plenty of home games at The Nat this month – grab some group tickets or purchase game tickets individually! This June, they’ll be facing off with Spokane’s Indians and Eugene’s Emeralds.

Vancouver Whitecaps

Liu’s newly released “Immigrant Superhero Origin Story” provides insight into various stages in his life as he battles the world of fair representation in Hollywood. The Marvel star even divulges a failed accounting career before he was set on the path towards becoming Shang-Chi, along with one of the most influential people of 2022.

Polygon Gallery

The Polygon is for the art crowd that likes a bit of adventure tossed in with their exhibit viewings. If standard art galleries aren’t your thing, consider stopping by the Polygon for some pretty unique programming this summer.

Starting Thursday, June 23rd – you can pull up a lawn chair at the Shipyards for Polygon’s outdoor movie series, Deckchair Cinema. Some titles to grace the screen this month include Carts of Darkness and Cleo.
