The satisfaction of a good bagel cannot be overstated, and when it comes to finding the best in the city, we think this list comes pretty close. Whether you’re after a bagel sandwich for lunch or just grabbing a single bagel on your way to work, these are some of the best bagel-focused spots to check out in Vancouver.
To that end, if you have a Benny’s Bagels-shaped hole in your heart, this list is for you.
We’re starting with one of the biggest names in the game, Siegel’s in Kits and on Granville Island. The local shop makes some of the best Montreal-style bagels we’ve had, which are available by the dozen if you’re looking to stock up. As for their sandwiches, it’s pretty hard to beat their Big Breakfast Bagel or Lox & Cream Cheese.
Where: 1883 Cornwall Avenue and 1689 Johnston Street, #22
Another quintessential bagel spot in Metro Vancouver, Rosemary Rocksalt offers bagel lovers an array of bagel sandwiches named after local neighbourhoods. And if you want something classic, you can never go wrong with their namesake bagel flavour, which can also be made vegan!
There are three locations to choose from in Lonsdale, Richmond, and Commercial Drive, which means you’re easily covered no matter when a craving hits.

Whether you’re looking for a hearty sit-down meal or for something tasty to go, Simit Bakery has no shortage of authentic Turkish bagels and pastries to choose from. Fluffy pogacha (savoury feta-stuffed buns), mouthwatering bourek, and a selection of bagel sandwiches are just the start. Our advice? Go with a soucuk (beef sausage) & mozzarella-stuffed bagel and go from there. Just make sure to save room for dessert!
Where: 191 West Broadway and ???? West 4th Avenue
If you frequent Kitsilano or live in the area, you’ve likely passed by Solly’s countless times, and have maybe even integrated the Jewish-owned shop into your daily routine. And if not, we definitely recommend you do, because their sesame bagels and German pretzels are top-notch! Not to mention, all of their pastries are available at a great price point.
Where: 368 West 7th Avenue
This North Van pick might be a tad out of the way for folks in the city, but their authentic Montreal-style bagels are well worth it. Open since 1999, the shop is owned & run by brothers Mark and Eliot Workman, who have turned their passion for bagels into a full-fledged franchise factory.
Where: 701 Queensbury Avenue, North Vancouver
