Whether you’re an average Joe or a Hollywood celeb, it seems like none of us are immune to the struggles of getting stuck in an elevator at a very inconvenient time, which is exactly what happened to Anna Kendrick at TIFF this past weekend.

The actress posted a video of herself stuck in the lift before the premiere of her film Alice, Darling.

Ah, the classic ‘I’m behind schedule at this film festival because I had to be rescued from an elevator’ excuse,” she wrote in the caption.

The video featured a series of clips of Kendrick providing some comedic relief in the packed elevator and making the best out of the situation.

“Guys, we have to ration the limited supply of food that we have,” she said as a woman opened a pack of gum.

Kendrick continued to film as Toronto Fire arrived on the scene and opened up the hatch to send down a ladder, which everyone used to climb out of the elevator.

Her hairdresser Craig held her up for support as she climbed up the ladder in her red carpet gown.

The actress may have been running late for her event but she still made time to pose with the Toronto Fire team for photos, which she added to the end of her Instagram video.

According to CityNews, Kendrick and six others were stuck in the elevator at 225 Richmond St West on the fifth floor.

It was a busy day in the city with TIFF festivities in full swing, including Taylor Swift’s short film presentation, the premiere of Tyler Perry’s A Jazzman’s Blues, and several more.

Never a dull moment during festival season here in Toronto!
