Luckily, collections highlighting more underrated vacation destinations, like Travel + Leisure’s 12 Best Small Towns in Canada list, goes live every year to shed light on those less populated places up north that deserve just as much hype as say Toronto or Vancouver.

This newly released catalogue of the best small towns in Canada was put together using a simple rubric. Which towns are the most charming, offered the best hospitality, and left you feeling like you had just taken an adventure?

Based on these qualifications it should come as no surprise that a place like Golden, British Columbia – a stunning place surrounded by 6 national parks that JUST opened the country’s highest suspension bridge, known for its rafting, wolf sanctuary, and beer scene made the top of the list.

Other spots – like Baie-Saint-Paul, Quebec, Churchill, Manitoba, Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, and Tofino were also mentioned, citing Baie-Saint’s art galleries, Churchill’s stunning view of the Northern Lights and Tofino’s cultural significance as well as its beaches.

In addition to this, the list saw Elora, Ontario, Victoria-by-the-Sea, Prince Edward Island, and Banff, Alberta take top spots.
