New York has a new deal just for Canadians with 30% off hotels, attractions, and Broadway shows

New York City Tourism + Conventions wants Canadians to visit, and with this new summer travel incentive, it hopes it’s enough to convince. Canadians can get discounts on select flights as well as tourism and hospitality spots in NYC starting next month. Here’s what you need to know about the Northern Neighbour Deal.

Starting Tuesday, Aug. 18, NYC’s Northern Neighbour Deal goes into effect, offering discounts at more than 85 hotels, Broadway shows, attractions, restaurants, museums and more. In an effort to help offset the currency exchange rate, the discount Canadians can get is 30 per cent off.

“Canada has long been one of New York City’s most important international markets, and we are focused on strengthening that connection by making it easier and more compelling for Canadian travelers to choose NYC,” said Julie Coker, president and CEO of NYC Tourism + Conventions.

“The Northern Neighbour Deal is a targeted effort to drive travel from our second-largest international market, encouraging Canadians to book a summer visit while generating new business for hotels, attractions, restaurants and cultural organizations across the five boroughs. By partnering with businesses across the city, we are reinforcing New York City’s value, variety and unmatched experiences for Canadian visitors.”

Participating businesses include:

• Over 40 hotels
  • Ace Hotels, Hotel Beacon, Hard Rock Hotel New York, Hotel Indigo NYC Financial District, The Knickerbocker, Renaissance New York Harlem Hotel, Row NYC, Sofitel New York, Tempo by Hilton New York Times Square, TWA Hotel, Walker Hotels, Westin New York at Times Square, and more.
• Attractions, museums, and tours
  • Barclays Center Arena Tours, City Cruises, Edge, Empire State Building Observation Deck, Intrepid Museum, New York Hall of Science, NY Waterway Harbor Tours, New York Yankees, NY Waterway Harbor Tours, Puttery, Untapped New York tours, and more.
• Broadway shows
  • Aladdin, The Book of Mormon, Buena Vista Social Club, Chicago, The Great Gatsby, Maybe Happy Ending and Stranger Things: The First Shadow.
• Restaurants
  • Ayza Wine & Chocolate Bar; Balade; Rivercrest; Stout locations by Penn Station, Financial District, Grand Central and Bryant Park; The Wolfe; and more.

The discounts don’t end there. Porter Airlines is offering up to 20 per cent off all New York flights as long as they are booked by Aug. 7, 2026. It must be for travel dates up to Dec. 15, 2026.

The airline currently operates up to 91 weekly flights to New York City, serving LaGuardia Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport.

“New York was Porter’s first U.S. destination in 2008, and it has remained our top international market every year since then,” said Edmond Eldebs, senior vice president and chief commercial officer of Porter Airlines.

“Canadians have always appreciated the diversity of experiences that New York City offers, which is unlike any other place in the world. They are continuing to travel there today and the opportunity to save right now on flights, accommodations, meals and attractions makes it that much more appealing.”

But if you want to take advantage of the Northern Neighbour Deal, you’ll want to make sure you book a trip between its kickoff date and Sept. 7, 2026.
