If you’re getting a little stir crazy and need that special somewhere to book in the future, we have an incredibly unique and historic spot for you right here in BC. We’re talking about the BC Electric Sumas Substation, which has been converted into one heck of a place to stay. And while its title might sound rustic, trust us when we say this spot is anything but that…

BC Electric Sumas Substation

The ‘Power House’, as it’s affectionately called, is a 112-year-old former BC Electric Power Station that’s situated just 45 minutes from Vancouver. The transformed property now features 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and can sleep up to 16 people! But the caveat here is that this property has to be rented for a minimum of 60 days.

So if you and your friends are looking for a long, work from home getaway this is probably one of the craziest spots you can find. Not to mention, there are tons of outdoor activities to explore nearby. We’re talking horseback riding, fishing, swimming, boating, and more! So if the outdoors are your thing you can enjoy them while relaxing in luxury.

If you’d like to stay at the Power House it’ll cost you about $637 a night. But honestly, that makes sense as this house is huge. But hey, if you’re able to afford 60 nights at that rent, we definitely won’t stop you!
