STUFF YOUR FACE DURING LA POUTINE WEEK

Work that appetite, Calgary! Canada’s tastiest event kicks off this week – which means you’re in for two full weeks of cheese curds, gravy and goodness brought to us by some of Calgary’s favourite restaurants.  Happy eating!

FALL DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE AT THE ALICE POPUP

We’ve had a topsy turvy year – escape it, but tumbling down the rabbit hole! This week Calgarians can finally check out the Alice in Wonderland Popup bar where colours are a little brighter, directions are up for interpretation and unbirthdays are as merry as can be. Here guests can sip themed cocktails, play games and snap as many picks as their little hearts desire.

‘CHILL’ WITH THE PENGUINS AT THE CALGARY ZOO

Want to see something spectacular? While it may not warm your hands, the Calgary Zoo Penguin Walk is back to warm our hearts for its 10th year in a row. This event is weather permitting, so make sure you check out their website before heading out!

SIP COCOA AT YYC HOT CHOCOLATE FEST

Thirsty? The annual YYC Hot Chocolate Festival kicks off this week with over 70 restaurants and cafes around the city participating. You can hit one, hit a couple, or hit them all, and taste your way around town.

RENT A FIREPIT

Take advantage of that warmer weather, YYC. After an incredibly successful pilot year, the FREE Calgary community fire pits are back and available to the public in hopes of warming the chillier months. Check out the link above for where and how you can rent one of these bad boys!

HIT UP OLYMPIC PLAZA SKATING RINK

Have you hit the ice yet this year, Calgary? Don’t miss your chance to lace up and feel the wind through your hair! Olympic Plaza, one of the city’s favourite ice skating rinks, is frozen over and open to the public. Check it out and enjoy, folks!

GO FOR A WINTER WALK

HIT THE ICE BAR AT FAIRMONT CHATEAU LAKE LOUISE 

A brew with a view? This week head to the mountains for a day of sipping and skating. From now until the bar literally melts away, check out the Chateau Lake Louise’s magically delicious ice bar – and grab a cold one!

LIGHT THE NIGHT AT CHINOOK BLAST

It’s here! It’s finally here! This Friday, Calgarians can finally check out Chinook Blast, which has returned for another year of light, fun, and colour! From local art, music, theatre and recreation to a number of incredible light displays that will be visible throughout the city’s core, this event is not one to be missed.
