More than a year after it was first announced, the highly-anticipated Nordic spa village in Whitby is gearing up for a grand opening and it’ll be unlike anything Ontario has ever seen before. Thermëa Spa Village will be a massive relaxation destination that can comfortably accommodate up to 700 people at once. With so many amenities at your disposal, you will easily be able to spend all day here.

A representative of Groupe Nordik, the Quebecois company behind the new Whitby centre and two other Nordic spa villages in Canada, told Curiocity that it will open its doors in the coming months. Despite being just 45 minutes east of Toronto and just 10 minutes from the Whitby GO station, you’ll feel as if you’ve been whisked across the world when you’re floating on the Dead Sea-inspired waters.

The relaxation rituals you’ll experience include 6 dry saunas and 2 vapour baths, 5 warm pools, glacial plunge pools, a German-inspired Aufguss ritual in an authentic log sauna, the Middle Eastern tradition of Rhasul in a steam bath, Epsom salt flotation pools, as well as massages and various treatments. When you’re ready to rejuvenate your appetite, there are also 3 restaurant areas to choose from.

The spa will be open to guests aged 16 and older and by reservation only, which you’ll be able to make by phone or on the spa’s website. There will also be the option to purchase a Signature Package, which will grant you access to the reservation platform 24 hours before it opens to the public.
