Mapo Pancake House

The much-anticipated Yaletown Korean pancake house is nearly open! In fact, their soft-opening on Wednesday, April 27th, so you’ll definitely be able to load up on delicious seafood pancakes come May. The pancakes (pajeon) are cooked using savoury butter and topped with everything from green onion and seafood, to meats and cheese. Pair your choice of savoury pancake with a flight of makgeolli, (rice wine-based beverage) — because why not?!

Monarca Cocina Mexicana

The opening of Monarca marks the continuation of a familial tradition — the playful dishes and a lively atmosphere were inspired by both Chef Francisco Higareda’s father and the famous Monarch butterflies that their family grew up with. Monarca’s menu follows suit with dishes that are just as vibrant, check out their website for all the deets!

Cantina 189

Situated next to La Taqueria in Gastown, Cantina 189 is one of the newest intimate cocktail bars to hit the scene, operating on a first-come, first-serve basis. Think low, candle-lit date lighting and innovative drinks to keep you on your toes.

Not only is Cantina now open for business, but the adjacent zero-waste pop-up bar Chupito is getting ready to reopen this May! Just in time for patio season.

City Square Pizza 

Much like its name, City Square Pizza is serving up straight-to-the-point Sicilian & Detroit-style pizza with both traditional toppings and unconventional ones. Creamy smoked salmon and eggplant? Heck yeah!

Stop by for their signature tomato sauce and one-of-a-kind cheese blend that is sure to win your heart. Their menu also offers vegan and veggie pizzas — so no one’s left behind on those late-night pizza runs.

Great news for lovers of this classic Kits burger joint! Hundy’s is back and better than everthis time with a storefront in Yaletown, where they’ve brought back all the burgers and chicken sandwiches you know and love, plus a new hidden speakeasy concept.

Mister Artisan Ice Cream

For the ice cream lovers out there — we’ve got some sweet news for you. Mister’s Kits location just opened and they’re serving up all the flavours that won your heart & tastebuds at their Yaletown location. Open every day from 12 to 9 pm, there’s plenty of time to stop by for one of their delicious works of art.

Lil Willy’s Wafflehouse 

Yup, Toronto won’t be the only Canadian city to enjoy x-rated waffles from now on! On May 13th, Vancouver’s own Lil Willy’s Wafflehouse will open, bringing the controversial treat right to our proverbial doorstep.

Wild Thing

Set to open next month on Powell Street is a community-focused snack bar with a knack for natural wine and socializing, aptly named Wild Thing. Come for the rustic diner-meets-quaint-European-town vibes and stay for the fresh eats and coffee.
