The ultimate outdoor adventure is practically calling your name. With just a 3 hour drive from Toronto, you can enjoy all the insane activities available at Algonquin’s High Falls. This (sort of) nearby destination is perfect for anyone looking to escape the busy city and have a little fun.

Algonquin High Falls are located on the east edge of the massive Algonquin Park. You can access them via the High Falls Hiking Trail, which tasks to the edge of the Barron River. From there, the river flows into Stratton Lake and High Falls Lake, where the waterslide and waterfalls both are. If you’re venturing through the water to get there, the Archray Access Point on Grand Lake is a good bet. Once you’ve found ’em the adventure begins.

One of the main attractions at this incredible spot has got to be the natural rock waterslide. Pop on a life jacket and water shoes and splash along to enjoy this naturally formed activity. The slide will take you on a thrilling ride into the swimming hole of the Barren River.

Along with the natural water slide, there’s also plenty of hiking trails and spots to camp in the area. Extend your stay and go exploring through the 4.5 kilometre trails of surrounding mixed forestry. As if all that isn’t enough, you can also go canoeing or kayaking in the river. Or just stop and admire the falls themselves.

However you decide to spend your time here, there’s no denying that an outdoor adventure at the Algonquin High Falls is well worth the trip. You’ll definitely catch us flying down that natural water slide this summer!
