Ontario’s breathtaking mountain-top skating trail is open for the season

Sharpen those skates, Ontario! Woodview Mountaintop Skating is back for the season at Blue Mountain.

This 1.1 km ice skating loop is located at the top of Blue Mountain and offers incredible views of the Niagara Escarpment.

You’ll truly feel like you’re in a winter wonderland with nothing but snow-covered trees and soaring views around you as you glide along the trail.

But, the real magic happens after sunset. Thousands of interactive lights illuminate the ice at night, guiding you around the trail as you skate after dark.

Tickets come with two hours of access to the trail. Ice skate rentals are available on-site for $12 each and the trail is suitable for all skill levels.

There is so much to do at Blue Mountain Village this season. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, there is also snowshoeing, tubing, and epic thrills on the Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster.

After you’ve had your fun in the great outdoors, you can head inside and warm up at one of the many restaurants and cafes in the village and nearby Collingwood.

And no trip to Blue Mountain is complete without a relaxing visit to the Scandinave Spa.

Ontario is full of incredible ice skating trails. Among the most popular are the torch-lit trails at Arrowhead Provincial Park and Muskoka Lakes Farm and Winery.

There are also several trails you can enjoy in the city, including The Bentway, Barbara Ann Scott trail at College Park, and Colonel Samuel Smith Park.

However, there is only one mountaintop skating trail in Ontario, and it’s totally worth the trip.
