One of the most picturesque winter activities in Ontario is about to return! Light the Night at Muskoka Lakes Farm and Winery is a magical skating experience under the stars.
During Light the Night, the winery’s 1.2 km ice skating loop through the cranberry fields is lit by hundreds of tiki torches.
You can glide your way along the trail as glowing fires illuminate your path. And once you’ve had your fun on the ice, you can warm up with hot mulled wine or hot cran-apple cider.
The opening of the trail is dependent on weather conditions. But, Muskoka Lakes plans to host its first Light the Night event on Saturday, January 14th.

Once the season begins, this event is typically hosted every Saturday evening. Bookings are set to open on January 9th.
A similar torch-lit skating event is held at Arrowhead Provincial Park in the winter.
This gorgeous trail cuts right through the forest and is illuminated by torch lamps on Friday and Saturday evenings throughout the winter. However, this year’s opening date has not been announced yet.
If you’re up for the adventure, Muskoka Lakes Farm and Winery also has snowshoe trails and firepits on the ice trail that you can reserve both during the day and during Light the Night.
You can keep your eyes peeled for updates about the opening details on Muskoka Lakes Farm and Winery’s website.
