The season of skating under the stars is back, and if you’d like to know how to get to the magical Arrowhead skating trail in Ontario without a car, you’ve come to the right place.

The ice trail at Arrowhead Provincial Park is among the most picturesque destinations for outdoor skating in the province.

The park also hosts Fire and Ice Nights, which is an evening torch-lit skate event that is hugely popular in the winter months.

But, given how far it is from the city, getting there without a car (or a ride) isn’t always easy to do.

Thankfully, Parkbus is running several day trips from downtown Toronto to the Arrowhead skating trail and back this winter as part of its ActiveDays itinerary.

Parkbus is a nonprofit transport company that provides bus services from major cities to parks and outdoor attractions.

This winter, Parkbus will have ActiveDays trips to Arrowhead Provincial Park in both January and February.

Not only will you get to play outside in the winter weather, but you’ll also get to be out after dark,” says Parkbus.

As part of the excursion, you can participate in an optional hike to Stubb’s Falls in the afternoon, followed by a dinner break and free time to experience Arrowhead’s skate trail by torch-lamp.

Rentals are available on-site for snow-shoes, skis, and skates on a first come first served basis.

You will be picked up at a convenient central location near Yonge-Bloor subway station at 12 PM, and depart from the park at 8 PM.

There are two ActiveDays trips in February that include access to Fire and Ice Night.

There is also a daytime-only excursion to Arrowhead Provincial Park on January 28th, which you can sign up for here.

If you want in on this memorable visit to Ontario’s torchlit skating trail, you may want to save your seat on the bus ASAP.
