The list has finally been revealed! Toronto’s Michelin Guide is out and several notable restaurants have received its honourable stars.
The Michelin Guide announced that 74 restaurants made the inaugural Toronto selection, including 1 Two-Star restaurant, 12 One-Star restaurants, 17 Bib Gourmand restaurants, and 44 recommended restaurants.
Back in May, Toronto was selected as the first Michelin Guide destination in Canada. It was the sixth chosen location in North America. Vancouver was chosen as the seventh destination in July 2022.

The Two Star Michelin Restaurants in Toronto officially include:
Sushi Masaki Saito
The One Star Michelin Restaurants in Toronto officially include:
Don Alfonso 1890
Kaiseki Yu-Zen Hashimoto
And Michelin’s Bib Gourmand restaurants are:
Cherry St BBQ
Indian Street Food Company
Sumilicious Smoked Meat & Deli
The way this works is simple. Inspectors award Michelin stars to “unparalleled cuisine” and restaurants can receive one to three stars, depending on how impressive they are.
As for Bib Gourmand ratings, it’s given to restaurants that serve high-quality food and good price points, and the Michelin Green Star is given to restaurants that are involved in “sustainable gastronomy.”
According to Michelin’s historical methodology, selection is based on five universal criteria: 1) quality products; 2) the mastery of flavours; 3) the mastery of cooking techniques; 4) the personality of the chef in the cuisine; 5) consistency between each visit.
Are you surprised by who made the list?
