With Halloween just a few weeks away you’re probably seeing a lot of candy lining your local store’s aisles. And with so many options these days it can be hard to choose just which candy to grab for your neighborhood trick-or-treaters. However, a brand new map shows which candy Americans favor by each state, let’s see which candy Washington loves most.

Candystore.com used its “annual data mining” to determine the top 3 most popular Halloween candies in each state. Let’s just say as we return to full-blown Halloween, the results are somewhat surprising. That being said, Americans are going big this year with the National Retail Federation, predicting Halloween candy sales of around $3.1 Billion, an all-time high.

The top three favorite candies in Washington in order this year are Tootsie Pops, Salt Water Taffy, and M&M’s. Tootsie Pops? Seriously? It’s a big switch up from last year’s, which according to a different study was Nerds. We have to say Nerds still seem a little more appropriate but hey we’ll give Tootsie Pops a go this year.

If you’re curious our neighbors down south in Oregon are all about M&M’s and our neighbors to the east in Idaho are snickering their way through spooky season with Snickers.

With that, Happy Halloween!
