Known for its vast landscapes, Canada has some of the most incredible destinations in the world, but few can hold a candle to Wapusk National Park.
Nestled in Manitoba, this wide-open marvel is no ordinary site, it’s a northern wonderland that many caribou, foxes and wolves call home.

Spanning 11,475 square kilometres, Wapusk is incredibly diverse with everything from arctic tundra to boreal forest, but there’s so much more to it than that!
Traditionally used by the Cree, Dene, Inuit, and Red River Métis peoples, Wapusk National Park is also one of the world’s largest polar bear maternity denning areas.
Sounds incredible, right? Well, don’t think about visiting without doing some serious research first!
Due to its significance, all activities in the park must be accompanied by a licensed tour operator.
From aerial tours to visits via companies like Wat’chee, those interested will need to plan way ahead if they want to get a glimpse of those beautiful baby cubs.
According to Parks Canada, the very best viewing opportunities are offered between February and March – but don’t fret if you don’t have the time or money following the holidays.
There’s also a live cam that broadcasts from Cape Churchill and it’s magical!
