A Korean horror film screening and zombie flash mob is happening in Vancouver & here’s when

When you think of movie screenings, they’re rarely paired with flash mobs, right? But in light of ‘spooky season,’ that’s exactly what the Vancouver Public Library has in store this month. We’ll elaborate.

Train to Busan is a widely popular Korean horror film about a zombie outbreak in South Korea – and if you’re a horror movie lover who hasn’t yet seen it – you’ll definitely want to check it out. It was an official selection at the Cannes fest in 2016, and boasts a rating of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The screening is part of larger series of “haunted happenings” at Vancouver Public Library called Lights Out, which spotlights “the human fascination with horror and the uncanny.” You can read more about the series here.

Now, here’s where things get especially interesting. In addition to watching the film unfold in all its glory, visitors can participate in a zombie-themed flash mob.

VPL asks visitors to don their best zombie costumes and head to the library to watch “one of the most famous Korean horror films of all time.” Oh, and there will be prizes for the best (or spookiest?) dressed. So come prepared with ‘looks that could kill.’

And with a good amount of horror movies filmed right here in Vancouver, we’re sure it’ll be an eventful month for scares.

The event will take place at the Montalbano Family Theatre on level 8 of the Central Library from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, October 27th.

We’ll see you there, Vancouver!
