6 scare events around Edmonton to check out this Halloween season

There are a whole bunch of thrilling scare events happening in and around Edmonton this year, including haunted forest frights and terrifying corn mazes. If you don’t know where to start, we’ve got you covered.

We’ve rounded up some of the best scare events and experiences near Edmonton or in the city itself. If you’re looking to get your blood pumping this Halloween season, these exciting events are surely going to do the trick.

DARK

Fort Edmonton Park hosts this huge scare event each year in Edmonton with several haunts, roving entertainment, food and drink to enjoy, and a live DJ spinning tunes all evening. This year, four different haunt experiences will take over the park: three returning from past years, and one being an all-new nightmare.

When: Now until Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026
Time: Gates open at 6:30 p.m.; Haunts open from 7 to 11 p.m.
Where: 7000 143rd St. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: $50+

The Haunted Hike

With 20 themed rooms and live actors lurking around every corner, The Haunted Hike is back with both familiar frights and all-new terrors awaiting.

There are two kinds of vibes offered here: the Kids Hour and the Scary Hour. The Kids Hour is a family-friendly, self-guided experience with no actors or jump scares, while the Scary Hour runs later in the evening with the full 4D horror experience, including jump scares, live actors, and all the scares imaginable.

When: Fridays and Saturdays from now until Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026
Time: 3 to 5 p.m. (Kids Hour); 6 to 11 p.m. (Scary Hour)
Where: 5225 52nd Ave., Vegreville, Alta.
Cost: Varies

Deadmonton

If you aren’t familiar, Deadmonton is easily one of the creepiest, scariest, and most exciting haunted houses and scare events in Edmonton during Halloween season. With three new haunts (Cursed, The Asylum, and The Rejects) ready for your arrival, you’re going to have your socks absolutely knocked off.

Invite some friends, grab your coat, and get ready for the thrill of a lifetime.

When: Now until Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026
Time: Varies
Where: 9300 47th St. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Varies based on time and date

Screams for Dreams

This day of Halloween fun is all in support of Alberta Dreams, a charity organization dedicated to making dreams come true for children facing severe chronic or life-threatening illnesses across Alberta.

In addition to live music, games, prizes, and more, you can take a walk through the terrifying Haunted Shop. According to Integra Tire, the Haunted Shop experience will be scary and is intended for adults, with parents using their own discretion for children.

When: Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026
Time: Noon to midnight
Where: 11402 89th Ave., Fort Saskatchewan, Alta.
Cost: $10 per person plus a food donation

Warwa Woods

This thrilling Halloween event only comes to Alberta one weekend a year, and it’s back with what they called their “most ambitious haunted experience yet.” Expect a haunted forest filled with frights, expanded storytelling, and two immersive trails to explore instead of the sole path they’ve had in previous years.

When: Friday, Oct. 23, to Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026
Time: 7 to 10 p.m.
Where: Camp Warwa, Darwell, Alta.
Cost: $22 per person, $77 for families (four people maximum), and $175 for group bookings (10 people maximum)

Field of Screams

The Field of Screams is K3 Corn Maze and Family Farm’s annual Halloween experience east of Edmonton, and it’s back for its sixth annual event with spooky scare actors hidden in the maze itself.

The main attraction is, of course, the terrifying corn maze, featuring different frights and scare actors around each and every corner. In addition to the maze, there will also be bonfires, as well as hot food and drinks available for purchase.

When: Saturday, Oct. 24, and Friday, Oct. 30, 2026
Time: 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.
Where: 19409 Township Rd. 512, Tofield, Alta.
Cost: $12 per person
